Live streaming event showcases a century of progress on polio
In 1916, New York City experienced a devastating outbreak of polio— the first major outbreak of the disease in the United States. One hundred years later, the world is a different place in fighting this disease. Cases have been reduced by 99 percent over the last 25 years and polio has been stopped in all but three countries.
